VPOD: Great Gatsby!

I find it interesting that there is a 1920s revival happening in fashion right now since the "Roaring 20s" were characterized by optimism and prosperity. Optimism and prosperity? Most of America isn't feeling too optimistic or prosperous right now. After all, gas prices are in the stratosphere, green house gases are in the atmosphere and we're living in a climate of war and fear.

But we'll see optimism and prosperity in America again--provided we elect proper leadership to the Congress and the White House. So make sure you're registered to vote in this November's election and then march on down to the polls all dolled up in a marvelous little dress like today's VPOD.

This authentic 1920s flapper dress is stunning! Check out the dramatic flower at the neckline, those darling little bows and the jagged hemline. It's all done up in the sweetest shade of salmon (which would look ultra-dramatic layered over black).

VPOD: Here Comes the Sun

I'm pretty sure that if I had lived in the 1920s I would have been a flapper. Flapper was slang that developed to describe those young women who boldly dressed and behaved in an unconventional manner. Yep, that sounds like me. And what's a little misbehaving when it meant being able to wear something as beautiful as today's VPOD?

This 1920s flapper dress is an absolute gem! While so many of these dresses were white or grey or black, this little number stuns us in beaded lemon chiffon. I'm swooning over that scalloped hem, those gorgeous roses and the unusual sunburst motif.

It's a sunshine find for a vintage fashionista!
