VPOD: A Victorian Treat

As a vintage dealer, I primarily handle items from the last few decades. Although I do have an affinity for century-old clothing--and have a gorgeous black mourning dress that I will whip out of its archival box for an evening gala someday--it's so difficult to find clothes of this age in wonderful, wearable condition. Today's VPOD, however, is a notable exception.

This white linen bustle coat dates from the 1880s and has a very contemporary feel with its scalloped edging, adjustable side ruching and row of brass buttons. Even more exciting is that it's a wearable size (36-27-44 to be exact) and in sturdy, wearable condition.

You sassy teens and twenty-somethings can pair it with leggings; more mature gals like myself can match it with jeans for day or satin trousers for evening.

It's a true Victorian treat for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Vintage Textile.
