VPOD: Shaheen Sarong
Every Alfred Shaheen print has a history that can be traced to a Polynesian or Far Eastern culture. And today's VPOD is no exception. This 1950s rayon dress features native fisherman along with colorful fish. And like all Shaheen prints, it was handscreened onto the fabric using separate screens for each color in the design. But unlike many Shaheen prints that are bright and colorful, this one is more subdued and quite interesting.
Of course, it does take second fiddle to the chic sarong design of the dress.
But together, they create a lovely choice for a vintage fashionista!
Available at Posh Vintage.
