VPOD: Polo Power

The sport of polo was first played in Persia as a training game for the military and has been called the "Game of Kings." Of course, in the fashion world, Polo is associated with Ralph Lauren. But the label on today's VPOD comes from a more unlikely source.

This carefree summer frock is actually a Malia-Honolulu creation but without an ounce of Hawaiian influence. Instead, it's loaded with preppy fun-in-the-sun appeal with bold stripes and a polo pony print on kelly green cotton. Plus its price tag is designed for those of us who don't have trust funds.

What a preppy polo find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Mavro Vintage.

As an ex polo player, yeah the whole thing, multiple ponies, mulitple grooms and an argentine pro on the payroll I can assure you that none of us would have been caught dead in any kind of attire that actually promoted polo.
why, I have no idea, it's just something that was considered the ultimate of un chic.
